Punjab mulls new Industrial Policy; single-window system to improve Ease of Business

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that a single- window system would be launched in the state to get all approvals required for setting up industries with ease. While holding a meeting with the corporates in Dhuri, Mann promised that the new industrial policy will be formulated after consultation and the government will work to create an affable atmosphere for businesses to flourish. “Most of the industrialists have shifted their units to neighbouring states amidst higher taxes and complex system to get approvals to run the business,” he said. The process to establish a single-window portal, allowing industrialists to get a No-Objection Certificate or other clearances online has been set in motion. “Top Indian companies and MNCs are keen to set up projects in the state”, he added. The state government is working to restore the old glory of industrial city of Mandi Gobindgarh and the other industrial towns such as Rajpura, Phillaur and Dhariwal.
