The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai), representing more than 13,000 developers, has unveiled its ‘National Real Estate Development Framework – Vision 2047’ at its annual conference. The report highlights the sector’s role in India’s journey to becoming a developed nation by 2047, with a strong focus on land reforms, ease of doing business, and sustainable urban growth.

According to Credai, the sector’s future lies not only in constructing buildings but also in creating inclusive communities and better livelihoods. Key recommendations include implementing a Land Titling Act, developing a unified national digital land register, and establishing land banks to promote affordable housing. The body has also proposed the development of 100 “cities of tomorrow” to meet future population and infrastructure needs.

The framework suggests digitisation and time-bound approvals to simplify building permissions, along with rationalising development and approval charges across states. It also recommends dedicated funds for infrastructure through housing bonds and green financing, while emphasising slum redevelopment and the adoption of sustainable construction technologies.

Skill development, labour welfare, and the integration of climate resilience into urban planning form other major pillars of Credai’s vision. The association has urged the Centre and states to create high-level committees and war rooms for faster implementation, ensuring that India’s real estate sector becomes transparent, competitive, and future-ready.
